MVD/Driver’s License renewal can now be done in Corona, Ruidoso or Alamogordo. The Carrizozo location at 6470 Hwy 380 inside Ortiz Motors cannot renew driver’s licenses, but can do vehicle related transactions like registration renewals/replacements, temporary tags, Title transfers, and vin inspections, and Notary Services. 8-9 am -- FREE SENIOR FOOD PROGRAM The Salvation Army of Roswell delivers a monthly food box for seniors in YOUR community on the 1st Thursday of each month from 8 – 9 am. The box contains 4 cans of vegetables, 2 cans of fruit, 2 cartons of shelf-stable milk, 2 bottles of juice, 2 boxes of cereal, 1 can of protein, pasta or rice, 1 jar of peanut butter or 1 bag of beans, 1 two pound block of cheese and 1 package of instant mile (every other month) at the main Fire House in Carrizozo. To qualify, you must show proof of age and identity (driver’s license or picture ID), proof of residency (physical address included on mail such as a utility bill), and income eligibility (your social security award letter, retirement income statement, annuity statement, employment pay stub or any document that includes gross income for everyone in your household). 10 am – THIRD SUNDAY services in Fort Stanton in the historic stone chapel at the southwest’s most intact frontier fort. We don’t meet in July (Fort Stanton Live) or December (Christmas).
11 am – Second Sunday -- Trinity United Methodist Church invites everyone to attend the Praise and Worship service with guitar music. We are on the corner of D Avenue and 10th Street. See you there!
11 am -- The White Oaks Community Church holds services for all denominations, as well as those still searching. Services are followed by a pot luck lunch; visitors are not expected to bring anything other than their appetites.
